Japanese 1 Living Language Command Center

Japanese 1 becomes a personalized learning journey with authentic input, bilingual scaffolding, spaced vocabulary, SofAI feedback, offline study, portfolio artifacts, and EduCoin progress.

Section EUC A‑G Requirement

Language Other Than English — 2 years required (3 recommended for UC admission)

Two or more years of the same language are required. Three or more years are strongly recommended for competitive UC campuses. Native speakers may demonstrate proficiency through approved exams.

Why This Matters for College Admission

A third or fourth year of a world language dramatically strengthens UC applications. Bilingualism is a lifelong career asset — especially in California's diverse workforce.
